I recently finished reading Pizzolatto’s debut southern crime novel Galveston. While reviewing it on Goodreads I stumbled across this video. After hearing something he said here it got me I’m thinking maybe that’s been my problem over the last 25 years, because I’ve always also been a musician, maybe not full-time, but certainly in tandem with also being a writer. Music came first, some five years prior to writing. I can’t live without either, though.

So you’re Brian K. Vaughan and you experience that proud moment when you see Marvel and Hulu turn something you created into a TV show.
EDIT: the leaked teaser is un-embed-able or has been removed.

With glimpses of The Pride’s rituals being shown, the power sets of the heroes are also not fully explored here either. There is a glimpse of Karolina’s powers of alien origin, but it is unclear if they will keep that background or find a new way to explain her powers. There also appears to be a shot of Molly’s eyes glowing, possibly indicating the use of her powers, but she will also likely undergo some origin changes as she is a mutant originally in the comics.
Once more of Runways begins filming and Hulu has more content at its disposal, we should be getting a trailer that better showcases the Runaways in action. Fans are anxiously awaiting the Staff of One to manifest out of Nico, see Chase dawn his gloves, and/or have Gert call upon her friendly-but-deadly dinosaur, Old Lace. However, some of those elements may have been too strange for a teaser, so keeping it simple to start could be the better strategy.
Runaways is expected to premiere on Hulu sometime in 2018.
(Warning: Strong/graphic content) As part of the Q&A Podcast Fight Club 15th Anniversary Special, in which host Jeff Goldsmith sat down with novelist Chuck Palahniuk (Choke, Survivor) and screenwriter Jim Uhls (Jumper) to talk about the 1999 film, Palahniuk was asked, among other things, about his writing method, including his inspirations, habits, etc. In response, he proceeded […]
This is must-see for anyone who truly appreciates the history of comics and the pioneers of the art form and industry. Unless you’re very young, uninformed or simply live under a rock, then you know how special the collaboration between Stan Lee and Jack Kirby was most notably in the 1960s. The Marvel Comics of yesterday, today and tomorrow would not be possible were it not for they synergistic collaboration of those two men creator what we know as Marvel Comics (and movies and TV) today.
And I gotta say those images and pages of Kirby’s look so beautiful! I would love to have all 101 issues plus the annuals now. I had a few of Stan & Jack’s run as a kid, sprinkled in with the Silver & Bronze Age comics I’d acquired in the mid-1980s. At the time as a young teenager obsessed with comics, but all about the present offerings, I hadn’t yet possessed the proper respect and regard for the old stuff that I that I thankfully developed later in life.
